Sal DiPietro embarked on his insurance career in 1979 as a commercial lines middle market underwriter with Fireman’s Fund, serving agencies throughout the MD, DC and VA region. Transitioning to the brokerage arena and joining DII in 1986, Sal’s approach transcends the traditional practice of simply delivering insurance policies to clients. He integrates the skillful assembly of sound insurance programs with risk assessment techniques and identifies solutions to help business owners control their overall cost of risk, and ultimately improve their bottom line. Sal also serves as Executive Vice President for DII, spearheading various agency-wide strategic initiatives.

Sal is a Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and holds a B.S. from Towson University in Economics and Finance. He is the outgoing Chair of CNA’s PACER Committee and a member of the CFG Community Bank, Business Advisory Board. Sal has three children and resides in Lutherville, Maryland.
